Maj. Howard D "Deacon" Hively, Athens OH. 334th Fighter Squadron. P-47D QP-J "The Deacon". Maj Hively lost his P-47C 41-6576 on 15 June 1943 when he bailed out over the Channel due to engine failure. He started flying a replacement QP-J on mission of 4 July 1943 but the serial numbers of any P-47 a/c other than the C model are not known.
