The B25J-5-NC Serial Number 43-28059 known as the "Apache Princess" was delivered to the US Army Air Force on May 17, 1944. She had a reasonably safe life and was used for training reconnaissance crews and artillery spotters at Pounds Field, Texas. When WWII ended, she was used for pilot training and then placed in storage in 1947 at Pyote Field, Texas. Four years later she was recalled, refurbished and reclassified as TB-25J. When B25s were phased out of service in the late 1950s, she was then retired to Davis-Monthan AFB in late 1957. On September 10, 1958 she began a long road of being bought and sold by various owners in Alaska, Montana, Alberta Canada and California. While in storage in California, her rear section was damaged by a storm. She again was sold in May of 1983 where she underwent an extensive restoration. The Apache Princess now resides at the Fantasy of Flight Museum in Polk City, Florida.
