The B25J-5-NC Serial Number 43-27868known as the "Yellow Rose" was built in Kansas City, Kansas and delivered to the US Army Air Force on April 26, 1944. After being removed from storage and assigned to Shepard AFB and then Laredo AFB, Texas, she was put back in storage at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ.
On December 11, 1959, she was sold to a company in Tucson AZ and again in 1960 to Dothan Aviation Corp in Dothan, Alabama. In 1962 she was modified and used for agricultural spraying and crop dusting. After another sale or two, she was bought and currently resides by the Confederate Air Force in San Marcos, Texas in July 1979. The Yellow Rose is currently the oldest B25J still flying. Interesting note: The early nose art shows the Yellow Rose 'topless' while on the current nose art she's wearing a vest!
